This mailing list is dedicated to the Native Art of Traditional Pottery throughout North America. It is provided as a place where collectors, those who admire traditional pottery and potters can ask questions, discuss pottery issues and brag about their acomplishments. There are no rules for this unmoderated list other than common sense and common courtesy. And have fun! For those not familiar with mailing lists: once you join, you will receive all mail sent to the list. Since there won't be much traffic on the list, you won't have to worry about being flooded with messages. If you want to reply to a message, just reply to the email as normal and the rest of the list will receive your reply (as well as yourself). Note: this list was started in February 2005, so don't expect much traffic for the first few months. If this turns out to be a good means of communication, messages will begin to flow. At any time, you can unsubscribe (see below). If you want to post a picture for all to see, you can send it to the administrator and it will be posted on a web page for viewing. It's best not to send attachments since we all are receiving under different connections. It's suggested that you make a special folder in your Email program and direct the messages into that folder. This is a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the tradpottery Archives. (The current archive is only available to the list members.)
Using tradpottery
To post a message to all the list members, send email to tradpottery@lists.mvdavid.com. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to tradpottery
Subscribe to tradpottery by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
